This portrait is the inception of the entire presidential rock series, by Samuel Morley. It features Abraham Lincoln annihilating the drums. We think the artist's inspiration for the instrument choice came from a Nirvana album with compelling photos of Dave Grohl in the cover art. Morley uses a subtle shading technique in pencil to lure the audience into the statesman's dramatic gaze, the intensity of which is parallelled only by his peircing drum beats. This seminal work is by far the oldest most cherished element of the collection. It is also the acclaimed motif of our previous residence, the house fondly named "Abe-Ode," at 29th & Lincoln. Critics agree that the importance of Abe on Drums cannot be understated: it is truly guaranteed to please.
